The second Crits@thepark races took place today at Cyclopark Gravesend. We had Lou Mason racing in the women’s 3/4 race, finishing in 6th (meaning her points now make her leader of the club champoinship). Next up came the 3rd’s with Tom and Rob Kennison taking part. In the 4ths Lee Pilcher came 13th from 100, Alex Woolley fought his way back to 25th after being behind a start line crash and Lee Kingston dug in to finish the race.
2nd Claim members Jacob Kennison and Vicki Strila also had good rides.
Well done everyone. If anything on this post needs correcting give me a shout.

Some Velo riders somewhere in here!
Last Saturday the club hosted the first of the Crits@thepark races at the Cyclopark, Gravesend.
Firstly we must say thank you to Tom Knight for organising and everybody that helped throughout the day, it wouldn’t have worked without you all standing in the cold or sitting behind a table!
- First up was the womens race with 22 riders.
- Next came the 3rd Cat men. Steve Smith flew the colours in this race coming 35th.
- In the 4th Cat race we had Matt Nunn in 47th, Robb Sapp in 37th, Lee Pilcher in 26th, Alex Woolley in 23rd and Shaun Robinson coming 6th in his first race to bag some points.
Well done to all the riders on a tough day for racing. Hopefully you all got the racing bug!
If I missed anyone give me a shout and I will edit the post

Dom Campbell raced in the SERRL road race at Brenchley today in tough conditions, finishing 17th in the bunch uphill finish. Lots of riders had been shelled out the back throughout the race, notably when Dom and another rider attacked half way through. Continue reading
This weekend of racing started on Sat 7th March with a number of Velo riders racing in various events. Dom got a tenth at the Cyclopark and Matt got a 5th also at the Cyclopark.
Tom was very unlucky in the wake of a crash, coming off and sustaining a broken wrist and collar bone. Our thoughts go to him for a speedy recovery.Sunday saw the KCA 3up Team Time Trial at Brenzett. We had 7 teams racing which was superb and they came in as follows:
- Michael, Steve and Dom 58:17 (4th overall); Ian, Dan andChris 1:00:46; Alex, Matt and Lee 1:01:58 (even after crashing!); Lou, Rob and Sally 1:03:17; Phil, Vince and Matt 1:05:27; Mark, Shaun and Rob 1:07:38; Ross, Matt and Chris 1:08:47 (first TT for Ross and Chris).
Good work everyone and let’s see if we can get as many out for the 2up on Bank Holiday Monday!
Keep the reports coming if you want to promote your hard work and volunteers still required for 28th March at the Cyclopark! Email Tom to help.
