Welcome to Medway Velo Cycling Club

For your Diary

Club Membership

It’s that time of the year again to renew club subscriptions. This necessary evil enables club members to be affiliated to various organisations so that they can compete in time trials, road races, track, and mountain bike events etc.

This year the subscription is £28. for senior members, £10. for junior members and £18 for over 65’s.

There seems to be some confusion over the insurance cover by the CTC which we use for all club members on our club rides and other activities.

All fully paid up club members are covered by 3rd party cover should you have an incident with either another club member or a member of the public. Non members are only covered for the 1st five rides they have with the club, after which if they enjoy the rides then they are invited to join the club. We have to keep a record of the riders for that purpose.

Social club members cannot take part in events, and second claim members can only be second claim if they have full membership with another club and that club should provide them with the necessary cover.

No club member who has not paid their subs can compete in any activity or represent the club in any sphere unless fully paid up.

Persons joining the club after October are automatically given membership to the end of the following year i.e. approx 14/15months.

We hope that club members will respond to this invitation to ride as a lot of time and effort has been put into getting this set up. Let’s see who can be the first to establish the course record.
