Club Runs

Club RunThe club meets every Saturday at 9am outside Victory Cycles in Rainham. New members are always welcome and all riders are catered for.

Runs are usually between 50 – 70 mile rides in two ability groups and usually feature a cafe stop. Don’t worry if you are new to cycling, no-one is left behind and the groups ride at the pace of the slowest rider.

There is often steady group that meets at the Victory Cycles on Sunday Mornings at 9am if you cannot make it on a Saturday.

Important information:

Extract from CTC’s rider insurance policy

You are covered if you are riding in an organised event or social ride provided that you have signed a signing on sheet or entry form on the day of the ride. ( So it is important that you sign the sheet) However you can have individual cover by joining CTC or British Cycling your self.

Guest Riders

You are covered if a non member on your ride / event causes injury or damage leading to a claim against you.

There must not be more than 5 non-members on any one ride, nor should a non-member participate in a ride more than 5 times. This limitation does not apply to one off events.

Club Run Etiquette:

  • Arrive on time, no one likes to wait in the cold.
  • Ensure that your bike is in good working order.
  • Bring some money  for a cup of tea and cake at the cafe stop.
  • Bring some spares and tools, especially an inner tube, tyre lever and pump.
  • Adhere to the rules of the road.

  • Warn other riders of hazards such as cars, horses, pot-holes, pedestrians, etc.
  • Greet other road users politely
  • Wear club kit if possible.
  • Ride in a manner that is predictable and safe.
