Paris Roubaix Challenge 2019

Three Medway Velo riders travelled to Northern France to take part in the annual Paris-Roubaix Sportive, riding over the fearsome cobbles  of the Hell of the North one day ahead of the professional race regarded as the toughest in cycling. Phil Booth, and father and son duo of Rob and Tom Kennison wore the velo jerseys, and they were accompanied by friends Lord Anthony Muir and his wife Heidi, acting as directeur spotif.

First back at the velodrome was Booth, completing the event for a fifth time. Having crashed heavily the previous year Booth rode cautiously at times, sticking to the task in hand.

Tom and Rob were not far behind, although Tom was suffering from bleeding palms.

Booth moves onto the Amstel Gold Race in the Netherlands next weekend, whilst Rob Kennison heads to the following weeks Liege – Bastogne – Liege in the Belgian Ardennes.
