Medway Velo will once again be running it’s rider grant scheme for members who have represented the club in competitive and non competitive events that incur an entry fee. An application form is available to complete at the foot of this page.
About the scheme
The club is in the fortunate position where there are sufficient funds to offer monetary assistance to riders who have represented the club at events and intend on doing so in the future.
The committee has ring-fenced club funds which they would like to award to members who successfully submit an application. The amount granted to the rider will be dependent on number of events completed, intention to continue representing the club, efforts to publicise the club and personal goals achieved.
The events do not necessarily have to be competitive, riders who have completed sportives and other challenges are invited to apply. Applications are also welcomed from members who have taken part in road racing, time trials and mountain bike racing. The committee is keen to reward riders who have taken the time to get out in club kit and do something a little bit different.
Results are not a factor.
Terms and conditions
The rider grant scheme is only open to first claim fully paid up members
Applications must be submitted to The Secretary by the appropriate committee meeting (June for tranche 1, January for tranche 2).
The amount granted will be agreed by the vote of committee at the monthly meeting
The decision on if an application is successful will be made by the committee and that decision is final
The amount of money awarded will be dependent on the number of applications and the criteria met within the application
Completed applications for tranche 2 must to be sent to The Secretary, Matt Nunn, via e-mail (secretary@medwayvelo.org.uk), before Tuesday 10th January. The deadline for tranche 1 applications will be announced later in 2017.
