Smith is club champ again.

Steve Smith claimed his second club championship in the space of a week, and took a fine second place overall in the De Laune CC 10 held on the Isle of Grain.

Coming home in 21:38 Steve was runner up to winner Robert Moore (Nuun Sigma Sport London RT) , who broke the course record to finish in 20:12.

Rob Kennison also finished in the top ten overall, and was second in the club champs, riding precisely to his predicted time of exactly 24 minutes, whilst Phil Booth was third velo and fifteenth overall in 24:43.

Shaun Robinson and Fraser Blandford came home within a couple of seconds of each other, with Shaun recording 26:08 and Fraser 26:10. Matt Nunn made it a trio of velos in the overall standings with 26:21. Karl Ford and Keith Johnson were only a couple of places behind them with times of 26:27 for Karl and 27:10 for Keith.

After the event time trial secretary Phil Booth commented “thanks to our friends at the De Laune for promoting the event, and we are grateful to the various officials and marshals for giving up their time. It was excellent to see so many velo riders competing in the same open event, and a sign of the strong team spirit and mutual support that exists within the club”.
