Phil Booth’s ignoble season of cyclo-cross came to an ignominious end after suffering a second lap puncture in the combined round of the LCCA and East Kent league at Betteshanger.
On a muddy course which saw several riders suffer mechanical problems on the first lap Phil lowered the pressures on his tyres too far and suffered a pinch flat on the second lap of the woods.

Safiya Smith sadly also crashed in her debut race, but she was later reported as being fully recovered, which is great news and hopefully won’t put her off racing off road again.
