Two Medway Velos took on the West Kent RC 80km reliability ride on Sunday.
Matt Nunn and Rob Kennison completed 80km of hilly countryside from Farningham, over Pollhill and Ide Hill and various other beautiful parts of the garden of England.
The events are a test of fitness, map reading and basic bike mechanics, as often at this time of year the road takes its toll on a cyclists steed.
Rob got off to a flying start racing off with a fast group. However the test of map reading was to be his maker and he went off course. He retraced his way and picked up the correct route after a short detour.
Matt, a little calmer and collected, stayed on course and finished without the extra miles. Both had set their sights on a sub 3-hour finish snd both succeeded with Rob completing in 2hrs 52mins and Matt 2hrs 54mins.
